Integrated Water Resources Management for the Mekong, 19-30 Jul 2010
Mekong Institute (MI) is organizing a two-week learning program on “Integrated Water Resource Management for the Mekong” for 8 Junior Riparian Professionals (JRP), 6 Young GMS Professionals, and 1 regular staff of Mekong River Commission. The program will be held on July 19-30, 2010 and aims to provide the participants with knowledge and skills related to water resource management in the context of Mekong Cooperation. Topics to be covered include water management principles, water resources management functions, basin planning, and various key issues in water management. The use of participatory approaches and a strong focus on practical knowledge will be highlighted in this course. Likewise, two structured learning visits are included in the program to better appreciate the theories learned and to give the participants some insights on the various problems involved in the planning and implementation of water management and hydropower projects in Thailand.Sponsored by Mekong River Commission, the training program will be held at MI Residential Training Facility located in Khon Kaen University, Thailand.
