To enhance capacity of Thai SMEs in expanding their trade and investment beyond the border to respond to the reduction of tax and non-tariff barriers among ASEAN members “Gateway to ASEAN” that facilitates and provides complete services to Thai SMEs that have interests in expanding their trade and investment to other ASEAN countries. To move toward this vision, the establishment of three trade and investment networks among SMEs in this region:

• ASEAN SME Export Network
• ASEAN SME Service Provider
• ASEAN SME Logistics Platform

Creating network of Thai SMEs and SMEs of neighbouring countries will synergize the effort in promoting Thai as SME Gateway to ASEAN.  Funded by the Office of SME Promotion, of the Thai Ministry of Industry, The Mekong Institute (MI) is organizing the regional workshop on ASEAN SME Regional Gateway GMS SME BIZ Network “Enhancing Business Cooperation among Thai SMEs and SMEs of CLMV and Southern China”.

This workshop will emphasis on participatory-centred approach where Thai and CLMV & YG entrepreneurs will have ample opportunity to present their business profiles, share their regional/local economic development potentials and do business matching.

• Promote closer working relationship, long-term business cooperation   and network between Thai SME Exporters and Logistic Providers and SMEs  and Key Persons of CLMV and SC
• Facilitate the formulation of join business plans among the SMEs in the GMS
• Add value to trade and investment of Thai SMEs
