May 8, 2017

Mekong Institute (MI) conducted the Training of Trainers (ToT) on Certified Logistics Master from May 1 to 5, 2017 at its residential training center in Khon Kaen, Thailand. The activity is part of the three-year project on Certified Logistics Master Program funded by the Mekong - ROK Cooperation Fund (MKCF).

The ToT aimed to promote a pool of professional trainers to localize the Certified Logistics Master program training modules in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Viet Nam, and Thailand (CLMVT).

A total of 18 selected participants from the three modular training cycles on Certified Logistics Master from 2014 until 2016 attended the ToT. The training covered core modules on Logistics operations, Logistics outsourcing and Third-Party Logistics, Global Logistics, ICT Application for Transport Management and Green Freight. The participants were also briefed on the GMS logistics database to obtain their support by introducing the concept to prospective logistics companies in their respective countries to register on the database. The GMS Logistics database is an interactive web-based database platform to serve the logistics sector for business networking and access transport and logistics related information and other notifications.

As part of the ToT, the participants visited V.SRIPRASERT CO., LTD – a transportation service company located in Khon Kaen. The visit aimed to provide understanding and identification of the elements of the logistics sector management on planning and operating business development. The participants were able to learn the ISO 9001, GPS system and other subjects related to business development such as “Q” mark, an emergency plan for accidents, and track and trace approach.

Moreover, a business networking with the members of Thai Logistics for Greater Mekong Subregion Trade Association was conducted. The participants presented their company profiles to prospective business partners as the first information to attract the business partners for business opportunities and networking development.

After the training, the participants developed the action plans, which will be put into practice by disseminating, transferring and/or replicating a training package on Certified Logistics Master to greater outreaches and networks in their countries from May until July 2017.
