Mr. Madhurjya Kumar Dutta, Director of Trade & Investment Facilitation Department, was invited by the UN-FAO to join the ‘Expert Committee Meeting on Small Scale Forest Enterprises’ at Colombo, Sri Lanka on October 19–21, 2017. The meeting was organized by the UN-FAO, Rome, Italy to validate the findings of the stocktaking study conducted by FAO in Asia. An outline of a comprehensive regional program to support the sustainable development of small scale forest enterprises in Asia, including ways forward to implement the regional program, was discussed and agreed at the meeting. The meeting was attended by 20 experts from Asia representing government, inter-governmental organizations and research institutes from Asia working in the field of forest enterprises.
