Young GMS Professional Program

ygms2012The Young GMS professional program aims to develop research, policy analysis and facilitation skills among young professionals who are interested or are involved in GMS cooperation program and AEC integration issues. The training will expose the participants to concepts and practices in international cooperation and regional integration, regional and global value chains, trans-border trade and investment, labor migration, good governance and public sector reform, learning
program management and facilitation.

This program provide learning opportunity to young GMS professionals for six months through a competency-based module requiring the participants to undergo the three phased modular training cycle of learn to do, do to learn, share to learn. The first phase will focus on basic facilitation skills, research methodology and regional integration. They will learn be deployed to MI departments and units according to their interest where they will be performing tasks related to research, learning program facilitation and policy dialogues. Prior to completion of the six-month training, the trainees will present their research outputs in knowledge sharing sessions with MI staff. Upon graduation, they may be absorbed by MI as part of the Institute regular staff roster or return to their organizations in their respective home countries.
