The regional training program on ASEAN Good Agricultural Practices and Product Certification commenced on April 27, 2015 in Mekong Institute.
The 10-day regional training program aims to enhance capacity skills in promoting ASEAN Good Agriculture Practices and tackles the important issue of product certification to ensure the free movement of safe, healthy and quality food within the region.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Watcharas Leelawath, MI Director, expressed his sincere hope that participants will apply the knowledge and experiences gained from the program to create positive impacts to their country regarding food safety.
Twenty-four participants from both the public and private sectors in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV) joined the training. This activity is part of the 'Capacity Development Programme for Integrating CLMV Economies into AEC' funded by New Zealand Aid Programme.
