Promoting the Regional Energy Connectivity: Professional Training on Power Dispatching, Operation and Control for GMS Power Grid.

Kunming, China (September 19, 2016) – Mekong Institute (MI), in cooperation with China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. (CSG)/Yunnan Power Grid Co., Ltd. (YNPG) is organizing a professional training, entitled, Power Dispatching, Operation and Control for GMS Power Grid with the support from the Chinese Government.

The Training, which officially opened on September 19, 2016 in YNPG Baiyun Training Centre, Kunming, China, brought together 36 technicians or middle management involved in power grid planning and construction projects from national energy authorities and power utilities. The Opening Ceremony was attended by Mr. Si Shuming, Vice President, YNPG, Mr. Ma Jun, Director General, Yunnan Provincial International Regional Cooperation Office and Ms. Tina Wang, Program Coordinator, MI.

The two-week training includes six-day in-classroom training and four-day structured learning visits to Honghe Power Dispatching and Control Center, Honghe Power Monitoring Center, 500kV Tongbao Subsation, 500kV Tongbao Series Compensation Station, Nanzhuang Grid-connected Photovoltaic Plant, Yunnan Power Dispatching and Control Center, Vehicle-based Emergency Communication System and National Engineering Laboratory for UHV Technology.
